Key Takeaways
- Survival is Up: The 5-year cancer survival rate has reached a historic 70%, thanks to better treatments and catching cancer early.
- Mortality is Down: Cancer death rates have dropped 34% since 1991, saving nearly 5 million lives.
- The New Risk: Despite these wins, cancer cases are rising in people under 50, especially for colon, breast, and pancreatic cancer.
- The “71% Gap”: Standard doctor visits only screen for 5 types of cancer, leaving major organs like the brain, liver, and pancreas unchecked.
- The Solution: A Full Body MRI can detect silent issues in these hidden areas before symptoms appear, giving you peace of mind.
The 2026 Report: A Turning Point for Your Health
There is incredible news coming out of the medical world this year. According to the American Cancer Society’s “Cancer Statistics, 2026” report, we are winning the war on cancer in ways we never have before.
The report shows that the cancer death rate has dropped by 34% since 1991. Even better, the 5-year survival rate for all cancers combined is now at 70%. This means that receiving a diagnosis is no longer the scary “death sentence” it used to be.
Why are the numbers getting better?
Researchers point to three main reasons:
- Fewer people are smoking.
- Treatments like immunotherapy are working better than ever.
- We are finding cancer earlier.
When you find a tumor while it is small, doctors can treat it. The problem is that many people do not look for it until it is too late.
The “Hidden” Problem: Why You Can’t Just Wait
While survival rates are up, there is a catch. The AARP reports that cancer diagnoses are actually rising in younger adults (people under age 50).
We used to think of cancer as something that only happened to the elderly. But the 2026 data shows a spike in colorectal, breast, and pancreatic cancers in younger people. Even more surprising, cancer rates in women ages 50 to 65 are now higher than in men of the same age.
This is scary because most people in their 40s and 50s are not getting screened for these diseases. Insurance companies usually do not pay for screenings unless you are older or already feel sick.
So, Why Are Cases Rising?
While experts are still studying the exact cause, recent research points to a major culprit: diet and lifestyle changes. A new study has linked the sharp rise in young-adult cancer specifically to ultra-processed foods and environmental factors that previous generations didn’t face.
It’s not just genetics anymore—it’s exposure. Read more about the link between processed foods and cancer risk here.
The “Symptom Trap”
Dr. Warren Ringold, the founder of Bionicc Body Screening, learned this the hard way. He was a doctor who felt healthy until one day he was short of breath. By the time he went to the hospital, he had Stage 4 cancer.
Dr. Ringold’s story teaches us a hard lesson: If you wait for symptoms, the cancer has already spread. To beat the odds, you need to look inside your body before you feel symptoms.
What Is a Full Body MRI?
A Full Body MRI is a safe, radiation-free imaging scan that visualizes your body’s internal organs from the head to the pelvis.
Unlike a CT scan or X-ray, it does not use harmful radiation. Instead, it uses powerful magnets to create detailed pictures of your brain, spine, liver, pancreas, kidneys, and other soft tissues. It is designed to find tumors, aneurysms, and cysts while they are still tiny.
At Bionicc Body Screening, we use the Siemens Magnetom Aera 1.5T machine. This technology is special because it has a “wide bore”—a much larger opening than older machines. This makes the experience comfortable and open, even for people who might feel closed in.

Bridging the “71% Gap” in Your Healthcare
You might think, “I go to my doctor every year for a physical. I’m covered.” Unfortunately, that is not true.
Your annual physical is important, but it is limited. Routine screenings typically cover only five main areas:
- Breast (Mammogram)
- Cervix (Pap smear)
- Colon (Colonoscopy)
- Prostate (PSA test)
- Lungs (But only if you are a smoker)
These tests only catch about 29% of cancers. What about the rest?
The other 71% of cancers occur in organs that are not routinely screened. These include some of the most vital parts of your body:
Table: What Routine Exams Miss vs. What MRI Finds
| Body Part | Annual Physical Check? | Bionicc Full Body MRI Check? |
| Pancreas | NO | YES |
| Liver | NO | YES |
| Brain | NO | YES |
| Kidneys | NO | YES |
| Spine | NO | YES |
| Ovaries | Limited | YES |
At Bionicc Body Screening in Southfield, MI, we close this gap. Our Full Body MRI looks at these “hidden” areas. We give you a complete look at what is happening inside your body so you aren’t caught off guard.
Safe, Simple, and Stress-Free
No Radiation, No Dye
Our screenings are 100% non-invasive. We do not use IV contrast dye, and there is zero radiation. You can have this scan every year without worrying about safety risks.
Comfort First
Because our machine has a wide opening (70 cm), most patients feel very relaxed. You can listen to your favorite music during the scan, which takes about 60 to 70 minutes.
No Referral Needed
You do not need a permission slip from your doctor to take control of your health. Because this is an elective screening, you can book it yourself. We believe you should be the boss of your own body.
Understanding What We Can (and Can’t) See
Trust is important to us. We want you to know exactly what this technology does.
A Full Body MRI Scan, also known as a whole body MRI, is incredible for seeing soft tissues—organs, muscles, and tumors. It is the best way to check your brain for aneurysms or early signs of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). It is excellent for finding tumors in the liver or kidneys.
However, no test is perfect.
- Heart: We do not check for clogged arteries (coronary artery disease). This must be done through a CT calcium score, which can be ordered by a doctor.
- Colon: We can see large masses, but we cannot see inside the colon lining to find small polyps. You still need your colonoscopy.
- Lungs: We can see tumors, but a CT scan is better for seeing the fine details of lung tissue. This is why a doctor orders a CT scan for smokers and former smokers.
By combining your routine doctor visits with a Full Body MRI, you get the most complete picture possible.
Peace of Mind is Priceless
The 2026 statistics prove that knowledge is power. The people who survive cancer are the ones who find it early.
Imagine walking out of our center knowing that your brain, liver, and spine look healthy. That feeling of relief is worth everything. And if we do find something, you have the advantage of time—the most valuable weapon in fighting disease.
Don’t wait until you feel sick. Be like the 70% of survivors who are beating the odds. Be proactive.
