As a military retiree and veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan wars, I have had great concern for issues due to extensive exposures to the Burn Pits during my multiple deployments. Many of my fellow veterans have been coming down with all kinds of cancers and respiratory issues. Unfortunately, when we are discharged or retired, we do not get a full-body MRI to baseline our current physical condition at the time of discharge/retirement that could potentially offer "EARLY WARNINGS" of conditions that may be developing in us due to "Burn pit" like exposures or other toxic hazards that we in the military are often exposed to throughout our careers. From these concerns, I decided to pay out of pocket for this "Full Body" MRI. From my first contact with Ryan Ringold and the Bionicc team, everything from my arrival through departure was EXCEPTIONAL. Ryan was very attentive and professional with the goal of ensuring I knew exactly what to expect, what the imaging would and would not detect, ensuring expectation management. The Full-body MRI took a bit over 70 minutes. The Technician, Amanda, was very pleasant and informative. She explained everything that will be going on during the scanning process, and what to expect and do as the table and machine moved during the different intervals of head and neck, chest, abdomen, spine, and pelvis screening. As I lay still, listening to Motown music and following Amanda's instruction when needed, I solved the world's problems in my head. When the scan was complete, I went back to a private room with complimentary snacks and beverages, waited for Ryan and we discussed how everything went, and what to expect. Although I have not had treatment at this business, I can vouch for their professionalism and kindness. My car battery died and I pulled into their parking lot to wait for assistance. I went in to let them know I was parked and waiting for someone. It is VERY hot today and the receptionist offered me water and allow me to use their restroom. It is definitely heartwarming. I received a printed report within a week and a DVD. The report was a very thorough head to hip evaluation of the MRI results. The CEO voluntarily expressed a willingness to send a copy to my doctor. Deciding to know the unknown, to take action before it's too late, is both a wise and a nerve-wracking decision. I appreciated Ryan and his staff's sensitivity to the "nerves" I felt, facing the possibility of cancer at 70 years of age. The entire experience was wonderful. I was made comfortable in both body and mind. Even while in "the tube," I was spoken to just to make sure I was OK. Ryan spent time with my husband, while he was in the waiting room, supplied healthy snacks and beverages. Ryan answered every question my husband had and updated him on my progress. Two weeks later I received the results of my MRI by phone call and mail. Kindness and unlimited phone time was much appreciated while I asked questions and sought further explanation. Recommendations were given, so I know what to do next, with issues that happily were not cancer. What a relief! I can not tell you how awesome it was, and still is, to know my own body well enough to help it, rather than fear it! At 70 years of age, it was time to know the unknown. I'm attending too many funerals to remain in blissful ignorance. An MRI that scans for cancer is common sense preventative care. But the fact that it also reveals fatty liver, potential carotid artery blockages, lymph node enlargements, spinal arthritis and stenosis, uterine fibroids, colon inflammation, aneurysms, etc., (the list is long) is invaluable! It takes the guess work out of planning corrective measures to change your own future! I'll be encouraging my friends to have this done. I'll also make my doctor aware of this clinic as well. For the cost of a weekend in Chicago that includes a live concert, they can regain control over their health and their futures. Thank you Ryan for carrying on your father's vision. He was so right! The full body MRI was about 75 minutes that led to peace of mind. The information I received after the scan was thorough and easy to understand. All of the staff were exceptionally kind and responsive. While I have some claustrophobia, I found it was easy to manage my anxiety while in the MRI machine with the help of relaxing meditative music.
